Amar Karma Organ Donation Society is one of the first ones to come up with the idea of practical giving of hearts by signing up to be organ donors, as their way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. There is a big list of people who are on the waiting list to receive hearts for transplant.
4th Annual Give a Heart 2014, organized by Amar Karma Organ Donation Society was held on February 8, 2014 at Bombay Banquet Hall. The event was fully packed and truly won many hearts. Young sixteens of the group came forward to register their consent to be organ donors. Dedicated volunteers of the group had prepared paintings to auction for the benefit of the cause. Lashika Katyal was awarded to be Karma volunteer of the year 2014. Kulwinder Saini was awarded to be Karma outreach volunteer of the year. Rohit Sangha was awarded to be Karma Support Volunteer of the year. Dance performances, songs and Bollywood entertainment by Karma Volunteers thrilled the guests. At this time the book Sab Rang was released, which is written by Joginder Ankhila, senior volunteer of Amar Karma Organ Donation Society.
Many politicians and prominent business persons participated in the event. Among them were M.P Parm Gill, Lawyer and Barrister Vipanjeet Marok, Raman Dua from SaveMax, Jagpal Mann from JP Law firm, Manan Gupta from Road today, Garnett Manning and many others. Among media firms that participated in Give a Heart 2014 were Rogers, Omni, PTC, ATN, Brampton Guardian and locally based South Asian newspapers.
Among the community personalities, Give a Heart 2014 was attended by Mr. Baldev Mutta from Punjabi Community Health Services, Raj Ghuman from Fulkari Radio, Sukhminder Hansra from Punjabi Daily, Harjit Bajwa from Ajit Jalandhar.
